Combined Minds started in October 2006, founded by Jim Bokhove with the purpose of teaching the world how to create websites without flaws. There are too many websites online that have security flaws, bad color usage, minimal use-ability or other flaws. So CM is an attempt to help everybody make a site that is nice and fun to watch.
Today Combined Minds is more, it's a community. So instead of only the minds of the administrators, you can now combine your mind with the rest of the world.
The mind's abbreviation.
The abbreviation CM is often used on this website. But much people don't know what we're talking about. CM stands for Combined Minds, as you can see it's a long name. That's why we have chosen to use CM in many cases.
A logo about people coming together?
On the top-left of this website stands our logo. Our image for recognition towards the world. The logo is chosen for its meaning. The symbol is based on two things. First is combining minds, in this symbol the lines represent the minds. The second is the Chinese character for person.

Jim
Hi, my name is Jim. I'm born in 89, so at the time I'm writing this I'm 18 years old. My hobbies are webdevelopment, anime and martial arts. I practice the arts of Nunchaku-do and Yoseikan Budo.I started webdevelopment when I was about 8 or 9 years old. My brother bought Frontpage via my mother who works for Microsoft (please don't kill me!). I created some useless websites, mostly about Dragonball Z wehehe.
A few years later my brother bought a HTML book, he couldn't learn so much though because I stole his book muhaha! It took me a few months (c'mon, I was young!) but I mastered the language into the details! (I think) Most websites I created in HTML without WYSIWYG were MotoGP and Gundam Wing websites.
Again after a few years, when I was 13 or 14 I got Photoshop from a friend and started learning Photoshop. Making ugly websites for a long time and being very proud! I also started my first big website called ZonaX.net. Together with a friend we created Photoshop tutorials; the biggest number of users online was ~70, so not bad.
A year later ZonaX.net was screwed up by a dude who promised me to add PHP to the website, and without backups I didn't want to re-create the whole website. So that's when I said to myself I wanted to learn PHP myself. It took a while, but I managed to learn it at a young age. And believe me; I'm not smart so it was/is quite an accomplishment! Now a few years later I'm working as a PHP webdeveloper at a professional company! :)
Nick
I started web development basically out of curiosity, and fell in love with coding. Since I started with HTML/CSS about 7-8 months ago, I've moved on to a bit of PHP, and even tried my hand at C++, and C#. Though C++, and C# didn't last long. Once I get a bit more proficient in PHP they will become my next challenge.Oddly enough, I found Combined-Minds through google while looking for a PHP IRC bot tutorial. I found the tutorial extremely helpful and well written, so I decided to stick around and check out the rest.

Combined Minds is run by a good team, but even with this team we're in need of people who would like to help us with several jobs. If you would like to join the team, please contact us via the contact page.
Available jobs:
- English language editors - Headline moderators - Tutorial writers - Forum moderators (.NET programmers plus Designers)
English language editors
Most team-members don't speak English as native language. This is at the cost of the content, especially grammer can be problem. Therefore we need someone who is willing to check all of the content, and make sure its correctly written.
Headline moderators
We don't write our own news, but we search for the best news articles on the web, and link them via our headlines. But searching them can take some time, time most of us forget because we're busy. Therefore we need a few people who are willing to take 15 minutes time a day to search for some headlines.
Tutorial writers
Combined Minds started with tutorials, and we don't intend to stop with it. So everyone who knows a language, or is good with a graphic application. You are all welcome here to join the team.
Forum moderators
With the forum we need people who can moderate and help some fora. We don't have much experience in the .NET webdevelopment languages, so we are still looking for someone who wants to take the job. Also we need some designers, especially people who have experience with many graphic enviroments (Eg Flash, Photoshop and maybe Silverlight?).
Other jobs
You are sure you can help the team even though you can't find a job suited for you? Well you can always send us an email via the contact page. Be sure to add to it why you think you would be usefull for the team.
